Albert Heijn is only Dutch retail brand in European top 50

Albert Heijn is one of Europe’s strongest retail brands, taking 26th place in the latest European retail ratings from brand agency Interbrand.

Taking just the supermarkets, AH is in 10th place, behind brands such as Carrefour, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl. The Ahold-owned supermarket is the only Dutch brand on the list and a new entry.

The list is headed by H&M, Ikea and Zara.

According to Interbrand, AH is worth €625m. The most expensive supermarket, the French Carrefour, is worth €7.4bn.
