€15m worth of cocaine found hidden in banana container roof

Four men have been arrested in connection with the smuggling of 436 kilos of cocaine, found in a container of bananas which was shipped to Antwerp and then forwarded to the town of Rucphen near Roosendaal.

The cocaine, hidden in the roof of the container, was discovered in Antwerp. Police then tracked the shipment to a warehouse in the Noord-Brabant town. The cocaine is said to have a street value of €15m.

The investigation also included raids on property in Rotterdam, The Hague, Barendrecht and Rucphen. Police seized paperwork, mobile phones and €8,500 in cash.
