More houses changed hands in February

There are more signs of improvement on the Dutch housing market with the publication of new figures showing buyers are increasingly willing to take the plunge.

The number of house sales in February was up 27% on February 2013, according to new figures from the land registry office Kadaster. In total, just over 10,000 properties were sold, a rise of 12.6% on January’s sales figures.

All types of housing rose in popularity but detached homes were most in demand.

Noord-Brabant showed the strongest increase with a rise of almost 50%. Flevoland was least popular but even there the increase was almost 12% year-on-year.
