Inflation falls to 41 month low

The Dutch annual rate of inflation fell to 1.4% in January, its lowest level since June 2010.

The national statistics office CBS said on Thursday the decline was 0.3 percentage point compared with December.

Inflation has more than halved over the past year. This is partly because the increase in value added tax to 21% and higher insurance taxes are now reflected across all the figures.
