The Netherlands deports drugs suspect to Russia

The Netherlands has extradited a major drugs baron to Russia, two years after he was arrested, Russian media report.

Vladimir Krasavchikov is alleged to be the leader of a criminal drug trafficking group which was smuggling cocaine from Ecuador to Russia, the Voice of Russia said, quoting the interior ministry.

Other members of the gang were arrested in 2010 during a cocaine bust but Krasavchikov escaped and was later picked up in the Netherlands. According to RTL news, it has taken so long to extradite him because of the large volume of paperwork.
