The Netherlands and US agree tax information exchange

The Netherlands and the US have agreed to set up an automatic tax office information exchange system between the two countries from September 2015.

‘This agreement underlines the cooperation between the Netherlands and the US in combating tax avoidance and illicit savings,’ junior finance minister Frans Weekers said in a statement.

The deal, known as a FACTA agreement, means the Dutch tax authority will be given information about Dutch nationals with tax obligations in the US and vice versa.
