The Dutch have cut down on cleaning and have more spare time

The Dutch spent an average of 41.2 hours a week on work, education, doing household tasks and on care duties in 2011, down around 90 minutes on 2006.

While the amount of time spent at work is unchanged, both men and women are devoting less time to domestic duties like cleaning, cooking and washing clothes, according to a new report from the government’s social and cultural policy think-tank SCP.

People are also spending more time watching television and using the internet, and less time reading printed media and books and visiting friends and family, the SCP said.
