Holland Casino to shed more jobs

Dutch state-owned casino group Holland Casino is cutting one in three of its head office jobs as part of a new strategy to decentralise operations.

The company is to give the 14 individual casinos more say in how their operations are run, enabling the headquarters to shed 100 out of 300 jobs.

An earlier reorganisation this year led to the loss of 350 jobs.

Holland Casino is likely to make a loss of €30m this year, the Financieele Dagblad said on Monday. The company has been hit by declining visitor numbers and increased competition from online gambling outlets.
