Experts to assess royal art collection for stolen works
The Dutch royal family is to appoint an independent expert to assess if any of the art in their collection was stolen or taken from Jews prior to or during World War II.
If any stolen or expropriated art is found, it will be returned to its rightful owners, the state information service RVD said.
The expert will look at all the family’s art, including museum pieces which used to belong to queen Juliana and prince Bernhard and which are now on show in the Rijksmuseum and the Het Loo palace near Apeldoorn.
