More young women have a degree than men

The number of Dutch people between 15 and 65 years of age who went through higher education rose to 28% in 2012, compared with 22% in 2003.

The figures from the central statistics office also show that a college or university education was almost evenly spread between men and women.

However, women between 25 and 35 years of age overtook men, with 44% of women having a degree and 37% of men.
