Scooter passenger killed during police chase
A 22-year-old man died in hospital after the scooter he was travelling on was hit by a police car, Nos television reports.
The 25-year-old scooter driver was seriously injured in the crash, which happened in The Hague at around 02.00 hours on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened after police saw the scooter driving at high speed without number plates. Neither of the men on the scooter was wearing a helmet.
Police drove after the scooter when the driver ignored demands to stop, but the chase ended in a collision. The incident is under investigation.
