Amsterdam mayor treated for prostate cancer
Amsterdam’s mayor Eberhard van der Laan is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, he told the city council on Friday.
Van der Laan says he expects to be able to remain at work for most of the time but that he may have to drop out of some official engagements.
The mayor, 58, is being treated at the city’s Onze Lieve Vrouwen hospital and Antonie van Leeuwenhoek specialist cancer clinic.
