Freelancers travel further for work

Freelancers travel to and from work for an average 105 minutes a day – almost double the average Dutch worker, BNR radio reports on Tuesday.

A report by the freelance institute ZZP Barometer shows that the self-employed are prepared to travel further than ever to meet clients, BNR said.

In total, almost 93% have access to a car, which is ‘significantly higher’ than the average Dutch person, and spend €220 a month on petrol.
