América Móvil to discuss KPN takeover with minister

Officials from Mexican telecoms group América Móvil, which hopes to take over KPN, are to meet economic affairs minister Henk Kamp on Wednesday, news agency ANP reports.

Kamp is keen to discuss the proposed takeover and América Móvil’s plans, ANP said, quoting ABM Financial News. He also wants to emphasise the importance of KPN for the Dutch market, ANP said.

América Móvil has offered €2.40 a share for the former Dutch monopoly. The company said on Monday it would maintain KPN’s indentity and the headquarters will remain in The Hague.
