Thalys boosts high-speed Amsterdam to Brussels services

High-speed train company Thalys is to increase its services between Amsterdam and Brussels from October, picking up some of the slack left by the cancellation of the Fyra service.

Thalys trains currently travel nine times a day between the two cities but this will go up to 11 from October. The increase means an additional 8,000 seats a week, Thalys said.

Dutch Rail has abandoned its Fyra high-speed service between the two capitals because of technical failings. Thalys is owned by the Belgian, French and German railways.
