Dutch women’s football team lose to Norway

The chances of the Dutch women’s football team moving past the group stage of the European Cup took at knock on Sunday after Oranje lost 0-1 to Norway in Vaxjo, Sweden.

The Dutch women drew their first match 0-0 against favourites Germany and must now beat Iceland to have a chance of progressing into the next round.

After the game, Dutch captain Daphne Koster said the Dutch team was apathetic. ‘This was not our level. Hopefully it is a wise lesson for the next game against Iceland,’ she said. Oranje take on Iceland on July 17.
