Dutch player wins silver at Rubik’s Cube contest

Mats Valk from Amstelveen took second place at the Rubik’s Cube world championship in Las Vegas on Monday.

The 17-year-old solved the puzzle in an average time of 8.65 seconds. During his last attempt, he was given a time penalty because not all the black lines were straight. This put him just behind the winning Australian.

Valk remains the world record holder with a time of 5.55 seconds.
