Dutch inflation rises to almost 3%, double the EU average
The Dutch annual rate of inflation reached 2.9% in June, a rise of 0.1 percentage point on May, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
Higher petrol prices were the main motor of the increase, which were partly offset by a fall in the cost of food, the CBS said. Inflation has been rising steadily since July 2009, when it was just 0.2%.
Calculated according to EU methods, the Dutch inflation rate is 3.2%, double the European average.
