Ajax wins first competition of new season
Amsterdam football club won a tight match with AZ of Alkmaar 3-2 on Saturday.
The Johan Cruijff Plate opens the new football season and is a duel between last season’s football association cup winners and the league champions.
The match, at the Amsterdam Arena, saw AZ ahead at half time 2-0. Ajax equalised in the second half and scored the winning goal in extra time.
