Maastricht is one of world’s best new universities

Maastricht University is in sixth place in the Times Higher Education group’s latest ranking of universities which are less than 50 years old.

The ranking of young universities gives a picture of the progress made by newcomers in providing a top class education.

Maastricht has moved up from 19th place in the latest list. ‘This is a sign of the strength of the Dutch education system,’ THE editor Phil Baty said.

Most of the universities on the list are European, but top spot goes to South Korea’s Pohang university of science and technology. Maastricht is the second-highest European university in the list.
