Digital television gains more ground

Nearly 6.5 million Dutch households now have a digital television connection, according to research by Telecompaper.

The first quarter rise in connections was 1.7%. Of the digital households, 3.7 million also have an analogue connection, Telecompaper said.

This means 84% of households are now equipped for digital television. Cable connections account for nearly 57% of digital subscriptions. Ziggo is market leader, followed by KPN, UPC and CanalDigitaal.
