Brrrr: sea water is very chilly for June

The weather may be warmer at last, but the Dutch coastal waters are very cold for the time of year, the AD reports on Wednesday.

With a temperature of between 13 Celsius and 14 Celsius, the sea is too chilly to swim in, the paper said. ‘This is too cold for the body,’ a spokesman for weather bureau weeronline.nl told the paper. ‘If you stay in for a long time, you will get hypothermia.’

The weather forecast for the next few days shows the warmer weather returning with an increased risk of rain.
