This spring was the coldest in 40 years

Spring 2013 was the coldest in over 40 years, with low temperatures and little sunshine, the KNMI weather bureau said on Friday.

March, April and May were all below average in terms of temperature. And while March and April had less rain than usual, May was extremely wet, the KNMI said.

The next few days are set to see a change, with dry, sunny weather and temperatures rising to 21 Celsius inland by the middle of next week.
