Fears grow for volleyball player missing in Spain

Fears are growing for the safety of Dutch international volleyball player Ingrid Visser and her partner who have been missing in Spain for two weeks.

The couple disappeared in Murcia and police have found no trace of them since they checked into their hotel two weeks ago. Their black rental car has also vanished and their luggage remains at the hotel.

Her family alerted the police after the couple failed to turn up for an appointment in the Netherlands. They also failed to meet a hospital appointment in Spain.

Visser’s family have urged the Spanish people to join the hunt for the couple and have set up a Facebook page to help spread the word.

Visser played for local club CAV Murcia between 2010 and 2012. She ended her international career last year with 514 caps.
