Dutch crane firm won’t face prosecution over Israeli wall

Dutch crane hire company Riwal will not face prosecution for its role in the building of the Israeli wall around the disputed Palestinian territories, the public prosecution department said on Tuesday.

The case will not be investigated any further because the Dordrecht-based company has taken ‘far-reaching steps’ to end its work in the Occupied Territories and only had a marginal role, the public prosecutor said.

Palestinian human rights organisation Al Haq instigated proceedings against Riwal in 2010, saying the company was guilty of crimes against humanity and war crimes.
