All but two Schiphol asylum seekers give up their hunger strike

All but two of the 19 asylum seekers who have been on hunger strike in the Schiphol airport detention centre have given up, a justice ministry spokesman said on Monday afternoon.

The 19 stopped eating on April 30 and May 1 in protest at being held in detention. Two are continuing to refuse to eat and a third person has been hospitalised, the ministry said.
