For the first time in 38 years, a Dutch film has been nominated for a Golden Palm award at the Cannes film festival.

The film Borgman, directed by Alex van Warmerdam, is about a mysterious stranger who arrives in a smart residential area, sparking a string of disturbing events around a weathly couple. It stars Jan Bijvoet, Hadewych Minis and Eva van de Wijdeven.

The prestigious festival takes place on the French Riviera next month.
