Zeeland has lowest jobless total in the Netherlands

Unemployment rose across all parts of the country in 2012 and the most jobless are in Flevoland, Zuid-Holland and Groningen, according to a new analysis of the jobless figures by national statistics office CBS.

Flevoland, the post-war polder province north and east of Amsterdam, has the highest unemployment rate at 8%, the CBS said.

This is almost double the rate in the southern province of Zeeland, where 4.1% are without work.

On average in 2012, 6.4% of the working population was without a job.
