Minister to fix public sector bonuses at 20%

Bonuses paid to senior executives at state-owned companies such as Dutch Rail (NS), Gasunie, Tennet and Holland Casino, should be fixed at 20% of basic salary, finance minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem told parliament on Wednesday.

Ministers earlier decided to limit financial sector bonuses to a similar amount, even though MPs had called for a 10% ceiling.|

The government is also attempting to impose a ceiling on public sector pay that is no higher than that of a minister plus 30%. This is around €190,000 a year including extras.
