Dutch heptathlete takes European gold
Dutch athlete Eelco Sintnicolaas took the gold heptathlon medal at the European indoor athletics championships in Goteburg this weekend.
Sintnicolaas, one of the favourites to take the title, shaved 31 points off his Dutch record in the process, winning gold on 6,372 points.
The men’s indoor heptathon involves the 60 metres, long jump, shot put, high jump, pole vault, 60 metres hurdles and 1,000 metres.
