Wintry weather returns to the Netherlands

Weather centre KNMI said on Tuesday high winds and heavy showers of hail, snow and rain accompanied by thunder will affect all parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

The wintry conditions, with up to 5m of snow in some places, will continue into Wednesday morning and road users will need to use care on slippery roads.

‘A low is moving in from Scotland,’ says RTL weather woman Helga van Leur. ‘If this moves west, we are in for snow. If it moves east, we’ll have rain. People need to keep an eye on the weather forecast.’
