The Dutch have no plans to push the boat out for new king
Wednesday 06 February 2013
The Netherlands may celebrate the inauguration of king Willem-Alexander on April 30, but just 8% of the population plan to spend more money than they do on a normal Queen's Day.
A survey for financial services group ING shows the average spend on April 30 will be just €27. And only 15% expect to spend more than €50 on Oranje-related items or on second-hand goods.
In total, 58% say they will spend the same amount as they always do on Queen's Day, while 34% will spend less. And nearly three-quarters think it right the inauguration is low key, because of the economic situation.

And? Most Dutch people celebrate Koniginnedag with a vengeance. Spending any more on it could land people in hospital.

By katy | 7 February 2013 8:13 PMEnglish is not my mother language neither is Dutch. So K or k would not make a difference. He will have the same benefits anyway :).
About the actual topic of the report: I'll spend less and party more!
Lets wish for a nice weather Beatrix or W-A, BTW: he should pick himself a shorter name.
Queens are better :)
