More children under social worker supervision

Some 40,000 children and teenagers were placed entirely or partly under the supervision of social workers last year, up 150% on ten years ago, according to new figures from the national statistics office CBS.

The figures include children who still live at home, with foster parents or in a care home.  The CBS says the increase stems from increased awareness of the varying forms of child abuse.
