McDonalds plans to open 15 new outlets in Holland

Wednesday 20 February 2013

American fast food giant McDonalds hopes to open a further 15 outlets in the Netherlands over the next three years, on top of the 230 restaurants it already owns.

McDonalds Nederland director Jo Sempels told the paper the expansion will create 1,200 jobs, on top of the 17,000 people the company already employs in the Netherlands.

McDonalds turnover in the Netherlands rose 3.3% to €647m last year, while sales in the fast food sector as a whole fell 7%, the FD said.

Go for it Holland. And while you're at it, keep blaming foreigners for the erosion of the Dutch culture.

The quality of new jobs being created is akin to the quality of food we seem to have been fed. 80 employees per outlet, how many full time contracts in there?

If they get over the "Hurdles" they will have a "Stable" business.

As the standard of living drops, McDonalds moves in. Obesity and diabetes increases...

An un-happy meal anyone...?

If I were to super-size 'McDonalkds', it would be the vast amount of capital it spends on advertising & packaging, that surely exceeds it's investment in healthy food.

A marketing strategy second to none: it uses young kids, dumb & false looking families with phony smiles to push it's mostly unhealthy products & employs slightly older kids to push buttons in it's automated kitchens for slave wages, (comparable to supermarkets.)

"I'll have the triple baconator (1,290 cal.), large fries (460 cal.), & a body-bag, cheers! :P

Not a big fan of fast foods, but, considering all the reports of horse meat entering the Dutch restaurant food chain, McDonald's starts to look pretty good.
