Consumer authority tells Groupon to clean up its act

The Dutch consumer authority has told discount coupon website Groupon to improve its information to customers following a large number of complaints.

In particular, consumers find it hard to determine who to approach with complaints and unwanted discount items, the authority is quoted as saying by news agency ANP.

Groupon has now pledged to improve its information for consumers and step up the performance of its customer service desk.

If the company does not improve, it faces a fine, ANP said.
