Bible belt town bans S&M parties in holiday park

The local council in the Bible belt town of Staphorst has taken action to stop two houses in a local holiday park being used for organised S&M parties, broadcaster RTL news reports.

The council says the houses are being used for paid sex, which is not permitted in the town’s bylaws.

The owner of the houses has been given until March 14 to stop all sex-related activities or face a fine of up to €10,000.

The owner, who lives in one house, can rent out the other but may no longer advertise commercial activities, such as S&M workshops and demonstrations, the council said.

There are some 70 chalets on the holiday park and other owners fear the value of their houses may be hit by the presence of the S&M parties, the broadcaster said.
