PSV defender suspended for three games for aggression

Football club PSV Eindhoven has agreed to a three-match suspension for defender Erik Pieters for his aggressive behaviour after being given a red card during Friday’s game against PEC Zwolle.

Pieters kicked a wall and smashed a window on his way back to the dressing room when he was sent off for a bad tackle. The left-back injured his arm and was treated for cuts in hospital.

PSV was leading the premier division when they suffered the shock 1-3 home defeat against PEC.

The suspension means Pieters will miss PSV’s Dutch Cup tie against Feyenoord.
