'Price of a three-course meal dropped 15% last year'Monday 07 January 2013 Cafes and restaurants are taking note of consumers’ shrinking spending power and cut the average price of a three-course meal by some 15% last year, according to food research institute FSIN. In 2012, people eating in restaurants paid an average €27.50 for a three-course evening meal, the FSIN is quoted as saying by news agency ANP. Total spending on food and drink rose marginally in 2012, with supermarkets benefiting most. Their turnover rose 1.8%. Spending on food in restaurants and bars went down 1.1%, which is less than had been forecast, the FSIN said. © DutchNews.nl
@Russell, http://www.iens.nl/zoek-een-restaurant/index.php In Amsterdam alone there are a few hundred places where you can get a 3 course dinner for less then €27. By pepe | January 7, 2013 12:28 PM Thanks, Pepe. All I get from that site when searching for 3-course dinners at €27.50 in Amsterdam is "Geen resultaten gevonden"... By Russell | January 7, 2013 5:19 PM Because IENS' search engine doesn't recognize €27.50. Use €27 or €28 instead. By pepe | January 7, 2013 6:31 PM |
