One in five of the 150 MPs in parliament is not meeting official rules on declaring private interests and other sources of income, the AD reports on Friday.
The paper carried out research into entries in the public register of MPs’ interests and found around 30 were not completely accurate.
A number of parliamentarians have updated their details since the research was carried out, the paper says. Some say they did not know they had to complete the register, while others blamed support staff for the failings.
Parliamentary chairwoman Anouchka Van Miltenburg (VVD) told the AD she has now mailed all the parliamentary party leaders, reminding them of their obligations.
‘But I am not going to follow MPs like a police officer and I am not going to send any civil servants after them,’ she said.
