Thursday 03 January 2013

A 76-year-old man from Amsterdam got stuck in a recycling paper container on Thursday morning after trying to retrieve a lottery ticket, the city’s police said.

The man had dumped his old paper in an underground container in the Pijp district but realised later he may also have thrown away the ticket. The man tried to climb in and find it but got stuck in the opening.

Passers by heard his shouts for help and called the emergency services. The lottery ticket was not recovered and it remains unclear whether or not it was a winning ticket, the police statement said.

Man gets stuck in paper recycling bin trying to find lottery ticket. Things happen. I remember a funny incident giving lectures in Zurich the presentation was late as usual I was making transparent photocopy’s just before one lecture and my tie was pulled in the copying mechanism of the photocopy machine, embarrassing.
