Ajax hoping for revenge in Dutch cup quarter final against Vitesse

Amsterdam football club Ajax takes on Vitesse of Arnhem in the last quarter-final of this season’s Dutch Cup competition on Thursday night.

The Amsterdammers are hoping for revenge after Vitesse ended their eight-match unbeaten run at the weekend. The Arnhem side beat Ajax 3-2, stopping the defending champions from climbing into the premier division league lead.

On Wednesday night, PEC Zwolle reached the semi-finals for the first time since 1977 after beating Heracles Almelo 3-2.

PSV Eindhoven also moved into the next round, with a 2-1 victory over Rotterdam’s Feyenoord.

They join AZ Alkmaar in the line-up, which beat Den Bosch 0-5 in a troubled match on Tuesday.
