Spanish police seize 11 tonnes of hash destined for the Netherlands

Wednesday 26 December 2012

Spanish police have seized 11 tonnes of hashish which was en route for the Netherlands and arrested 35 people in connection with the haul, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.

Police also seized €150,000 in cash, 14 vehicles and 109 mobile phones, the paper said. Most of the drugs were found in a warehouse in Toledo.

The arrests were made across Europe, primarily in France, Belgium, England and the Netherlands, the paper said.

11 tonnes of hash. From my research that is equal to maybe 0.4 tonnes of heroin or cocaine. This police work would have been better if it concentrated on the drugs that kill and severely addict users. Hash is nowhere near as dangerous as hard drugs - policing should reflect saving life and health.

So nobody has yet realized that the guv has a monopoly on soft drugs & makes big bucks by keeping it illegal?

Rather obvious to keep a non toxic useful plant illegal for it's own ends so thus, creating criminality for profit, BRAVO!!

You can't fool all the people all the time..

So, why don't the Dutch grow this and keep all the money for themselves? It seems the Dutch are passing up an easy source of money.

It was not en route solely to the Nederland.

"The dismantled organisation controlled the entire chain of trafficking, from production to packing, as well as transport to Spain, storage, and distribution throughout Europe, especially in France, Belgium, England and the Netherlands," police said in a statement.
