Project X-feest is the new word of 2012

Project X-feest has been voted word of the year in an online poll organised by the Van Dale dictionary group with 17% of the vote.
Project X-feest – a party organised via social media which ends up in a riot – takes its name from the film Project X and became a reality in the sleepy Groningen suburb of Haren earlier this year.
Over 100 people were arrested when a girl advertised her 16th birthday party online and it became a mass internet hype.
In total, 22,000 people took part in the Van Dale poll. Bangalist – a list of easy girls – was second and inbrekersrisico – the risks attached to being a burglar - was third.
