New 4G internet frequency auction raised ‘billions’

The auction of frequencies for new faster 4G internet services has raised much more than experts expected, Nos television reports.

The auction was expected to raise around €500m but the total is ‘several billion’, Nos says, quoting sources in The Hague. The actual figure and names of the buyers will be published after the close of the stock exchange on Friday.
The previous 3G auction in 2000 raised the equivalent of €2.7bn.
