More Dutch jihadists, but their number is still minute: report

More people have travelled from the Netherlands to take part in jihadist fighting elsewhere in the world but their number is still ‘small’, according to a justice ministry briefing, quoted in the NRC.

New trouble spots such as Syria and Egypt do form a strong draw to would-be jihadist fighters but the risk to the Netherlands itself remains ‘limited’ and domestic jihadist networks remain ‘relatively weak’, the report said.
Last month, three radical Muslims who planned to travel to Syria to take part in ‘armed jihad’ were arrested in Rotterdam.
