It’s going to be a wet Christmas

December is set to be one of the wettest on record, weather forecasters said on Monday.

So far an average 95 mm of rain has fallen but that may well rise to the 125mm necessary to qualify for the top 10 by the end of the month, weather bureau weeronline.nl said.
The east of the country has been much drier than the west, where an average of 80 mm of rain and snow has fallen.
So far, the sun has shone for just 27 hours, compared with 37 hours in an average December. But this is not unusual, forecasters told news agency Novum. The average temperature of 3.8 Celsius is around the norm for this time of year.
The KNMI says it will be wet and windy on December 25 and 26, with temperatures around 9 Celsius. There is a slight chance of sun on December 26.
