Five police chiefs agree to pay cut

Thursday 27 December 2012

Five senior police officers have taken a voluntary pay cut to bring their salaries back in line with government rules on public sector salaries, justice minister Ivo Opstelten has told parliament.

The police chiefs made the gesture after a ‘moral appeal’ from the minister, Opstelten said. From January 1, the top salary for a police chief is €187,340.
