Dutch sportsmen and women honoured

Gymnast Epke Zonderland was chosen as Dutch sportsman of the year for the third time, this time for his stunning performance at the Olympic Games in London where he won gold on the high bar.

Zonderland also took the title in 2009 and 2011.
Swimmer Ramoni Kromowidjojo took the women’s title. She won the sprint double at the London Olympics and was part of the relay team which won silver.
The team prize went to the women’s hockey team, who successfully defended their Olympic title in London.
Before the ceremony, all the Dutch medal winners – 20 from the Olympics and 39 from the Paralympics – attended a special dinner hosted by queen Beatrix at her palace on Dam square in Amsterdam.
