Police bust ‘very dangerous’ international drugs gang

Seven people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into what police say is ‘a very dangerous drugs gang’, Nos television reports.

Five people, all suspected contract killers for the gang, were picked up earlier this month. Police say the operation is one of their ‘biggest’ in years.
The group is said to have smuggled large quantities of cocaine from the Caribbean to the Netherlands via Schiphol airport using containers, freight shipments and couriers.
During raids on various properties around the Netherlands yesterday and earlier, police seized drugs, guns and ammunition.
The 12 who have been arrested are aged between 22 and 41 and come from the US, Cape Verde and the Dutch Caribbean islands, the public prosecution department said.
