Netherlands bucks positive EU trend

While confidence in the European economy has grown over the past month, in the Netherlands the reverse is true, according to European Commission figures.

Six of the seven big European countries reported improved economic sentiment but the Netherlands bucked the trend with a 3.2% drop, the Brussels figures showed.

The overall index, which includes producer and consumer confidence, rose by 1.4 points to 85.7.
